Introduction
   This workshop is intended to act as an introductory course to textile dyeing and printing and will be delivered through a series of demonstrations and practical exercises, providing the basic skills to enable participants to create their own textile ideas.
Working with a range of base fabrics, students will be introduced to the different dyestuffs and techniques to be used according to fibre content. Demonstrations will be given in achieving a variety of dye effects, and participants will be encouraged to experiment with these processes in order to create their own unique results.
Students will be introduced to a range of different printing techniques that can be used for developing sample pieces. Students will be required to bring research material into a topic of personal interest that could be used as a source of inspiration in creating imagery and/or colour combinations. Through experimentation in the application and combination of dyeing and printing techniques, participants will create a series of sample textiles, which may later be developed into a sample length.
This is an excellent workshop for artists/designers interested in textiles, fashion and textile art.

  Tashkeel will supply basic materials and equipment required for the workshop. Participants must purchase any additional materials used and all products will remain the property of Tashkeel until they have been paid for in full.
