Workshops
CONTEMPORARY LINE
Workshop leader: Rania Ezzat
Maximum number of participants: 10
Date of workshop: Tuesday: 11,18,25, Jan. and 1 Feb.
The essence of drawing is the line exploring space." ~ Andy Goldsworthy.
Overview
This workshop presents a fresh approach to contemporary drawing.
Open to any level or experience in Art. Using only black and white in order to explore the relationship between line and space, the workshop will include a series of guided, quick and liberating exercises that break the taboo and fear of drawing. Mistakes are welcome!
Concept
Looking at classical art the workshop will explore how we went from marveling and copying nature, still life and portraits to contemporary times, where distortion, anomalies and complexity came to conceptualize the making and viewing of artwork.
The simple approach to drawing is very well described by Paul Klee: “A drawing is simply a line going for a walk”…
